Realising your self-worth has nothing to do with checking your bank balance or counting the number of trinkets and gadgets you have accumulated. It is all about you. In fact it is about you without the money - the inside you - the real you. As we should, we give others love, respect and consideration; but how often do we give to ourselves this same love, respect and consideration? The regard in which you hold yourself (self-esteem) shows you how much you truly value yourself as a human being.
A healthy self-esteem leads to independence, flexibility, happiness, cooperation, adaptability and a positive outlook to most , if not all, situations.
Unhealthy or low self-esteem can only lead to unhappiness, irrational thoughts, rigidity, fear of the new, defensiveness and a generally negative outlook towards most things and events in life.
How we see ourselves has a great deal to do with how others view us. If we are happy, smiling and full of confidence then others will see us as someone they want to be around and be friends with. By respecting ourselves we portray this to others in our actions and words leading others to come to respect us as well. Think about it - how can you ever expect respect from others , if you don't respect yourself in the first place.
Developing your self-worth is all about developing your self-esteem.

A Positive Outlook For A Positive Life
Our outlook and attitude on life in general plays a huge part in how happy we are in life and ultimately how successful we become. Someone who thinks positively about everything will be more relaxed, calm and smile more than someone who is always looking on the bad side, who lets stress get to them and who constantly wears a frown.
Not only does how you think and feel affect you, it also affects those around you, in short, our mood affects our day. Developing and keeping a positive outlook is essential if you wish to lead a positive and fulfilling life. People will automatically pick up on your positive vibe and love to be around you.
There are many ways in which you can develop a more positive outlook and begin to change how you think and feel about many situations that you encounter in day-to-day living. Changing your attitude and not slipping back into negative thinking will take time but eventually the new outlook will become second nature. The five main key points to remember when changing your outlook are:
1. Turn your way of thinking into positive thinking and practice on a daily basis the art of thinking always in a positive manner. You should set your mind on completing one task at a time and think only of a positive outcome and how good you will feel when you have completed the task. Never allow yourself to give in to doubt or let yourself believe that you have taken on too much. Learn to press on and keep going.
2. Don't let your conversations with others turn negative. When in a conversation it is easy to let others discourage you, particularly if they have a negative outlook on life. Don't be tempted to fall back into your old ways, turn negative talk into positive talk and look for the good in everything and any situation.
3. Look for the positive in those around you and point it out, this way you can encourage a positive attitude all around you. Tell people you meet how much you like their clothes, hair, car, company etc. People love to be noticed in special ways and will respond very positively.
4. Whatever you are doing in your day-to-day life always look for the good in it, although it might be a boring task which you usually hate doing and one which leaves you feeling negative, try to find something about it that turns it into a more positive situation.
5. Never let yourself become distracted or hoodwinked into going back to negativity, it takes time to change the way you feel and think and if you have been down on yourself and the world for a long time then your new outlook will take a while to register and stay around. Stick with it - adopt an attitude of "stickability".
You will find over time that many areas of your life can be changed just by changing your outlook from a negative one to a more positive one. You will find that your self-esteem improves, you become more popular, you feel happier and are more confident than before. You will find yourself being able to tackle the tasks you once hated without them causing you stress and anxiety. You will find your interpersonal relationships greatly improving as well.
These are just a few of the areas where you can self-improve and gain a more positive outlook and thus lead a more positive life. Look on it as an opportunity for a new beginning.

Your Mind - Friend or Foe?
We are what and where we are because of our thoughts in the past. Thoughts become things. We consciously or subconsciously always think about something. The problem is that we usually think more about things we don't want than about the things we truly want. It doesn't matter if we want or don't want something as we will always end up getting what we mostly think about - good or bad!
Try to observe your thoughts for a day or two. Do you mostly think about the things that are worrying you, stuff you don't want to happen, situations you are afraid of, or do you mostly think about pleasant and wonderful things?
Your present situation, whatever that happens to be, is the result of your predominant state of mind in the past. In fact - you are creating your future now! Your future will be like your predominant state of mind now.
Because you're creating the future now, only the present is important. By having happy, loving, abundant and positive thoughts now, you are creating a happy, loving, abundant and positive future for yourself. This is the Law of Attraction in action. You definitely can attract whatever you want into your life: happiness, wealth, perfect health, love and wonderful relationships.
Unfortunately, you can also attract things and situations that you don't want. Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy. If you don't exercise control over your thoughts, letting them become negative, producing bad emotions, your mind will become your worst enemy. Teach yourself to control your thoughts, that is, think positively and with the resultant good emotions, your mind will have truly become your very best friend!
So..............is your mind your friend or worst enemy?

Desire
It is eternally true that desire is the cause of all feeling and all action: in other words, of all life. This wholeness of your life consists in receiving or radiating out the vibrations produced by thoughts. This is the Law of Attraction. In the Universe that is your mind these vibrations necessarily become conscious out-reachings in the direction of the felt attraction: that is, your thoughts have become desires.
Desire is therefore the mind seeking to manifest some form which as yet exists only in thoughts. It is the act of creation, whether the thing created be a world or a wooden spoon; both have their origen in the desire to bring something into existence which does not yet exist.
Whatever may be the scale on which we exercise our creative ability, the motive power must always be desire. Desire is the force behind all things. It is the moving principle of the universe and the innermost center of all life.
To attempt to take the negation of desire as our primal principle is to try to stamp out the very stuff of life itself. What we have to do is to acquire the knowledge required by which to guide our desires to their true destination (objects) of vibrational harmony and therefore thus gain satisfaction.
Desire is the life force in which all movement originates, whether on the physical level or the spiritual.
Desire is a creative power that must be closely guarded, trained, and intelligently directed.
Use it wisely!

Children of the Earth
"How can you buy or sell the sky? We do not own the freshness of the air or the sparkle on the water. How then can you buy them from us? Every part of the earth is sacred to my people, holy in their memory and experience. We know the white man does not understand our ways. He's a stranger who comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The Earth is not his friend but his enemy, and when he's conquered it he moves on. He kidnaps the Earth from his children. His appetite will devour the earth and leave behind a desert. If the beasts were gone we would die from a great loneliness of the spirit, for whatever befalls the Earth, befalls the children of the Earth."
